Former prime minister and JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda on Tuesday said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had gone to Tirupati to “wash away his sins of misusing power.”
“It is time that senior Congress leaders ask Siddaramaiah to step down as chief minister. I have seen several governments, but not a government which has misused its position to such an extent,” Gowda said.
He was speaking to reporters at the Press Club where he had come to felicitate the Karnataka Ranji Trophy cricket team.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Tuesday morning.
On his arrival at the entrance of the Sri Vari temple, Tirumala Joint Executive Officer K S Sreenivasa Raju, the priests and officials of the temple received him. Later he was taken into the sanctum sanctorum.
