State-level Rovers, Rangers meet from today

Bharath Scouts and Guides will conduct a state level Rovers and Rangers meet at IDSG government college premises from March 27 to 31.

Briefing reporters here on Thursday, District Scouts and Guides Chief Commissioner M N Shadakshari said the 200 women and 200 men from various parts of the states will take part. 50 tents have been put up for their accommodation, he said.

District in-charge minister K Abhayachandra Jain will inaugurate the meet, Scouts and Guides State Chief Commissioner P G R Sindhia will preside, MLA C T Ravi will give away the certificates, Zilla Panchayat President Bhagya Ranganath, MLAs B B Ningaiah, Y S V Datta, MLC A V Gayathri Shanthegowda, Capt Ganesh Karnik, Deputy Commissioner B S Shekharappa, Superintendent of Police R Chethan, Deputy Conservator of Forests Manik, Tourism department Assistant Director M R Prakash, College Principal Zareena Kausar and others will take part, he said. On March 27 at 4.30 pm, a march fast will be held at main roads. Also, cleanliness drive, demonstration on the significance of western ghat forests, trekking on Mullayyanagiri, demonstration on Ham radio, trekking on Jenukallu gudda and a lecture on ‘spirituality and youth’ have been organised, he added.

Scouts and guides district Secretary Shashidhar Rao and senior Scouter Neelakanthachar were present.
