Two persons, including a 25-year-old Nigerian national, have been arrested for drug trafficking.

Nwankwo Okechukwn Sylvester and Simranjeet Singh were held with cocaine and ecstasy tablets near west Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar. According to police, Nwankwo’s Indian visa was also found to be fake. He was held over information that a Nigerian national ‘John’ lives near Janakpuri East Metro station and supplies cocaine in the capital.

“We were informed that he would deliver a consignment near Ramesh Nagar Metro station late on Friday. The customer was to travel in a Maruti SX4 car,” said a police officer.

A police team reached near Ramesh Nagar Metro station and saw an African national waiting on the roadside. The customer also reached there in 15 minutes. Nwankwo and East Patel Nagar-resident Simranjeet were nabbed when they were conducting the deal.

“We recovered 40 grams of cocaine and 30 ecstasy tablets weighting six grams from Nwankwo and Simranjeet,” the officer added. Nwankwo’s passport revealed that he had two Indian visas. His first visa was issued in August 2011 and expired in October 2011, while the second was issued on January 5 this year. He arrived in Mumbai on January 9.
