19-year-old Haider Hussain today became the youngest qualifier to book a berth in the Bengaluru Pro-Am team for the Louis Philippe Cup 2015.

Hussain scored 42 points at the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) today to be a part of India’s biggest city-based team golf championship. The tournament was played in the stableford format where HGA hosted the club qualifier for the fourth edition of the Louis Philippe Cup.

Hussain, who is a student member of HGA, said, "This is the first time I have qualified for any tournament of this stature and I am really excited to play alongside C Muniyappa. My short game is a little weak and I am happy that I have got around 10 days to work on it before I showcase my skills to top world-class golfers."

This was the second club qualifier of season 2015 for Bengaluru team and Haider Hussain will be joined by Karan Rao, Winner of Champion Reef qualifier last week and one more player who will qualify from Champion Reef on June 6 to fight for the Inter-City Pro Am title of Louis Philipe Cup on June 11.

The one-day event witnessed fierce competition amongst 80 avid amateur golfers from the city that was playing for the coveted prize - a chance to play alongside C Muniyappa, Winner of 2009 Hero Indian Open, for Zion Hills Bengaluru team. In a unique and competitive format for all participants, the combined 18-hole scores of the three member pro and three member amateur teams will determine the winners of the Pro-am Title. However, the three member pro team will play in the stroke-play format over 54-holes from 11th – 13th June.
