VC office burglary: Police yet to make breakthrough

The Jnanabharathi police are yet to make headway in its probe into a burglary at the office of vice-chancellor, Bangalore University.

A police team led by DCP (Central) Sandeep Patil, who is currently the in-charge DCP (West), on Tuesday visited the VC’s office. “We met the VC and collected more details, but the probe is yet to take a shape,” Patil told Deccan Herald.

The VC’s office is yet to submit the list of documents/valuables burgled. The police are yet to ascertain the nature of materials stolen. “We have asked them to submit a report about the materials/ documents found missing. We will speed up the probe after receiving the report,” the DCP added.

The DCP clarified that there were no CCTV cameras inside or outside VC’s chamber.
Miscreants broke open locks of the VC’s chamber on Monday and fled with some materials. 
The theft came to light in the evening. Jnanabharathi police have registered a case and initiated investigations into it.
