‘BJP helped me’
President of Karnataka State Hotel Owner’s Association M Rajendra dismissed the allegations levelled by Congress leaders that he has offered the site, where the new BJP office will be built, in exchange for a MLC ticket, as baseless.
He said, the BJP leaders had helped him get through a personal ordeal, following his son’s death in a mishap. The BJP leaders later encouraged me to get involved in social service. That is the reason for gifting the site to the party, he said.
The ‘Mahasamparka Abhiyan’ of the BJP was also held in the city during the day.
Speaking at the meeting, MLA C T Ravi said that the recent nationwide membership campaign has been an indication of the strength of BJP. Over quips of ‘Missed call party’ made by other parties, he said that such statements indicated their desperation against BJP’s success.
MLA C T Ravi, former minister S A Ramdas and others were present.
