He said these children were found during the special drive carried out by Gurgaon police between July 1 and July 31. It was done by 24 specially trained teams under Joint Police Commissioner Saurabh Singh.

Virk said 809 missing children were reunited with their parents while 22 were sent to shelter homes.

"Though I don't have the national figures yet but I am confident that Gurgaon police have performed the best in the country, comparing per capita population ratio to number of missing children recovered," Virk said.

"The whole operation has given a boost to the image of Gurgaon Police and we are receiving good wishes from people from all walks of life," the police commissioner added.
