The girls had developed Sellixo, the Swachh Bharat Mobile App, and became world champions.

“I am proud of you. You have made the country proud. You are the true role models of the nation. I wish you all the best for your future endeavours,” Modi told the girls in Delhi, according to a media release issued by the school here.

During the 10-minute interaction with the girls, all Class 9 students, Modi enquired about the unique features of Sellixo, and listened with interest about its features.

He expressed his admiration for conceiving three of his ideas in one go – “Swachh Bharat, Digital India and Beti Bachao, Beti Padao,” the release said.

Later, the team called on Union Minster for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani who appreciated the rare feat achieved by the girls.

The girls (Team Pentechan) were declared winners at the international event and awarded $10,000 as seed money for future research. Over 400 teams from 64 countries participated in the Technovation Global Challenge event and 10 teams made it to the finals.

Team Pentechan’s mobile App was chosen as the topnotch technology innovation during the grand finale and the awards ceremony held on June 25.
The App’s jingle - Why thrash it, when you can cash it - too has caught the world’s attention now, the press release said.
