Two bike-borne men targeted four women in quick succession in different parts of the City on Monday morning and snatched their gold chains. The suspects struck between 6.55 am and 7.45 am in Magadi Road, Vidyaranyapura and Rajajinagar police station limits.

In the first incident, the duo followed an elderly woman, Ratnabai, 74, a resident of 3rd Phase, New BEL Road, when she was on a morning walk. One of them got off the bike, snatched the woman’s 60-gram gold chain and ran to his accomplice. The duo sped off in no time.

In the second incident, the men robbed Sarojini Bai, 74, a resident of 30th Cross, 2nd Block, Rajajinagar, around 7 am. The incident occurred near Basaveshwara College and the woman was smearing rangoli over the front yard of her home at the time. The men went up to her on the pretext of enquiring about an address. During the conversation, they diverted her attention and relieved her of the gold chain. They then fled.

A while later, the men snatched a 40-gram gold chain of Manjula, 45, who was walking to buy vegetables. The incident occurred near Warrier Bakery at 40th Cross in 2nd Block of Rajajinagar around 7.20 am.

In the fourth incident, the robbers targeted Lakshmi, 48, when she was taking a morning walk near a garden in Rajajinagar around 7.45 am. They managed to snatch her 80-gram gold chain.
Police suspect that all the four incidents are the handiwork of a two-member gang.
