Vitalise Seva Dal's activities, headmasters told

Every school in taluk will have a unit which will inculcate patriotism

He was speaking after inaugurating the Information Orientation Camp for Headmasters at the Auditorium in Devaraj Urs Medical College in Kolar on Thursday. The Camp was jointly organised by Department of Public Instruction and Bharat Seva Dal.

“The department has taken up a initiative to promote patriotism among children through Seva Dal. A unit of Seva Dal will be established at all the schools and students will be made to participate in the Dal’s activities. The students will be thought discipline, self-control, mannerism and patriotism through special activities,” he added.

 Hence Seva Dal’s unit will be established in all the schools in taluk, Gowda stated.

‘Take interest’

“The headmasters should always remember Seva Dal’s aims and its activities and should create awareness about them among other teachers in the school. Apart from educational activities they should also take interest in organising Dal’s activities in their schools,” Gowda opined.

In his keynote address U R Sabhapati, General Secretary, Seva Dal’s Central Office said that Seva Dal included citizens, students and others in all its units and was organising programmes for the welfare of the society.

For the first time the Seva Dal has extended its area of operation to schools, Sabhapati added. Seva Dal’s district unit president S B Munivenkatappa, Secretary B M Mubarak and K Prahallad Rao spoke on the occasion.

Seva Dal’s district unit Treasurer Sudhakar, Ganesh, V Manjunath, Y Shiva Kumar, Beereshwar, V Ramchandrappa, Central Committee member D R  M Govindaraju, Block Education Centre Co-ordinator Edwin Christopher, Government Employees Association district unit president K N Manjunath, Primary School Teachers Association district unit president Anil Kumar, Taluk unit president Ashwathnarayan, Assistant Teachers Association president D V Ramachandrappa, Somanna, Narasimha and others participated.
