Nitish launches Kejri'war' against PM

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday joined hands with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his comment on Nitish’s DNA during a BJP rally last month.

Stoutly defending his Bihar counterpart in his fight against Modi, Kejriwal said: “Modi and his party members have this habit of making personal attack during elections. Even during Delhi Assembly elections, they raked up the issue of my ‘gotra’. When the results poured in, they were routed in the 70-member Assembly. Similarly, I am sure, the politically-conscious people of Bihar will give Modi a befitting reply for saying there is something wrong in Nitish’s DNA.”

Kejriwal was speaking here at a seminar on Right to Public Service (RTPS) organised by the Bihar Administrative Reforms Commission where he not only shared dais with Nitish but showered encomiums on the Bihar chief minister.

“Your credo of good governance and sincere efforts made to establish the rule of law in the state has found its echo in Delhi too,” Kejriwal told Nitish.

The two chief ministers later minced no words in assailing the prime minister who, they said, “never misses any opportunity to run down his opponents”.

“The ‘negative politics’ and ‘politics of abuse’ is getting unpopular as fast as Modi’s is losing his credibility,” Kejriwal went on deriding the BJP leader.  “The Bihar special package announced by PM is merely an eyewash as it’s a repackaging of old schemes. But the way Modi has tried to ‘buy’ the people of Bihar, I am sure voters will give him a befitting reply,” he added.

After having lunch together, Nitish and Kejriwal flew to Bodh Gaya to visit the Mahabodhi temple.
