A team of ballistic experts from the City has been summoned to Dharwad to assist the police investigating the murder of Kalburgi.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), who rushed to Dharwad from the City, told Deccan Herald over phone that the experts would examine the bullets and then ascertain the weapon used. Two bullets have been recovered from the writer’s body. “We are hopeful of nabbing the assailants as the investigation is in full swing. The CCTV footage is being examined,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director General and Inspector General of Police Omprakash left for Dharwad to inspect the crime scene and guide the investigation. “All efforts will be made to nab the assailants,” he said.
Omprakash said a special team had been formed to nab the assailants, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dharwad). It comprises four inspectors and other staff.
