TV tycoon Peter Mukerjea's wife Indrani Mukerjea nee Bora, accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora three years ago, was on Monday sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the Bandra magistrate.

Besides Indrani, her driver Shyamvar Rai was also produced by the Khar police station before the Bandra magistrate's court. He, too, was remanded in judicial custody for a fortnight.  Rai was arrested on August 21 and Indrani on August 25. They have been in police custody since then.

Indrani's first husband Sanjeev Khanna, arrested on August 26, was however not produced in court, and was instead taken to Kolkata for further investigations.  Special Public Prosecutor Vaibhav Bagade sought judicial custody for Indrani and Rai, telling the court Khanna could not be produced as he was taken to Kolkata on Monday morning as part of the investigations.

After Indrani was granted judicial custody, she was shifted to the Byculla jail, while Rai is being shifted to the Arthur Road prison.  Peter Mukerjea appeared before the Khar police station on Monday for the fifth time. Over Thursday, Friday and Saturday, he had been grilled by the police and his statement recorded for over 36 hours spread over the three days.
