Two members of Irani gang arrested

The CCB arrested three persons, including two members of the notorious Irani gang in Hassan district and recovered two kilograms of stolen gold chains worth Rs 60 lakh.

The suspects are Abuzar Ali, 26, Abul Hassan, 23, both residents of Jannath Nagar, Dharwad and Girish Rajegowda, 38, Karyalaya Layout, Holenarasipur in Hassan district. A black colour pulser bike was also recovered. 

Ali and Hassan are involved in more than 41 chain snatching incidents in the City in the last two years. Ali was arrested in 2010 and he was involved in as many as 68 chain-snatching cases till 2010, said the police.

They duo admitted that they were also involved in various other petty crimes. The police have taken them into custody for further interrogation.
