Only 'Marathi manoos' for jobs in M'rashtra: Raj

 Raj Thackeray

Raj elucidated his stand at the MNS state conference in Central Mumbai, where he berated one of his outfits “Maharashtra NavNirman Vahtuk Sena” (transport union) for undertaking a campaign to teach Marathi to non-Marathi members of the union.

“Who told you to do that? These people will learn Marathi and then grab jobs in Maharashtra... They will even open schools in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to teach Marathi and then corner jobs here on the basis of knowing the language. This will not be allowed,” Raj said.

It was the MNS which had launched a violent campaign against North Indians in Mumbai two years ago. Raj has already warned that all taxi permits in Mumbai must go only to Marathi-speaking people born as Marathis and not to others.

Raj interestingly did not refer to the RSS statement on North Indians in Mumbai nor the organisation’s directive to its cadre to protect them from attacks by the MNS.
So far, Raj and the MNS were insisting that the people from North India must learn and speak Marathi while in Mumbai, but he obviously has gone a step further, now insisting that only those born as Marathi must get jobs or various business permits in the state.
