Co-optex exhibition in Mangaluru draws people in large numbers

 Co-optex (Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society) exhibition at Bharathiya Vidhyabhavana in Mangaluru is attracting onlookers with its vibrant collection of sarees.

Organic sarees, were an added attraction at the exhibition this time.

Organic sarees are prepared using organic cotton and fruits and vegetable colours attracted onlookers with ‘Seragu’ and borders.

“A particular group of skilled weavers from Negamam city of Koyampattur have prepared the sarees. It needs at least two day to weave a single saree and is very smooth and comfortable to wear,” said organisers. 

The Co-optex also started online business with www.cooptex.com, which means that the sarees can be purchased from any part of the world.  It has also started ‘Kanasu Nanasu’, a monthly saving scheme, where consumers can save 58 per cent and more. Under ‘Bangarada Male’ scheme, every consumer will get a coupon on purchase of goods worth Rs 2,000 and can also win gold coins.  The exhibition will continue till November 1.
