<p> Co-optex (Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society) exhibition at Bharathiya Vidhyabhavana in Mangaluru is attracting onlookers with its vibrant collection of sarees.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Silk sarees, Kanchipuram, Arani, Koyambuttur silk, cotton sarees, Kora cotton sarees bridal sarees, bed sheets, pillow covers, carpets, towels, readymade shirts were at display Organic sari <br />Organic sarees, were an added attraction at the exhibition this time. <br /><br />Organic sarees are prepared using organic cotton and fruits and vegetable colours attracted onlookers with ‘Seragu’ and borders. <br /><br />“A particular group of skilled weavers from Negamam city of Koyampattur have prepared the sarees. It needs at least two day to weave a single saree and is very smooth and comfortable to wear,” said organisers. <br /><br />The Co-optex also started online business with www.cooptex.com, which means that the sarees can be purchased from any part of the world. It has also started ‘Kanasu Nanasu’, a monthly saving scheme, where consumers can save 58 per cent and more. Under ‘Bangarada Male’ scheme, every consumer will get a coupon on purchase of goods worth Rs 2,000 and can also win gold coins.
