A 41-year-old man has been arrested for raping a 19-year-old college student a few months ago. The suspect has been identified as Ishwar, a resident of Nandini Layout and a welder by profession. He is married with children, said the Mahalakshmi Layout police.
The police said Ravi accidentally met the victim, a college student, when she was returning home and offered to drop in his car till her house. However, he took her to a desolate place, raped her and dropped her back near her house. The suspect and victim live in the same lane.
The victim narrated the incident to her parents who lodged a police complaint. “We registered a case of sexual assault against Ishwar and arrested him. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody,” said the police and added that the girl would be subjected to medical examination.
