Having arrived on Saturday for their FIFA World Cup qualifier tie against Indian after a exhausting 20-hour journey, the Guam national side raised voices of disappointment on the treatment they received at the official team hotel here.

Put up at a hotel on Residency Road, the team members complained about disturbance caused due a party at the hotel that went late into Saturday night.

“We arrived here after spending close to a day on the flight. And all we needed was some sleep and rest. But the party, that had close to 200 people in attendance, didn’t let our players get any,” said a team official.

“The loud music and the lights were really a disturbance. We didn’t expect such treatment here. Especially to a team that has come down to play a World Cup qualifier against India,” he added.

The official said their efforts to get in touch with the hotel authorities fell on deaf ears.
“When we tried to get in touch with hotel authorities, there were of least help. Though the manager on duty assured us that he would do the needful, nothing fruitful happened. And when we tried to contact the local police, they did not even bother to turn up,” he said.
The hotel authorities were not available for comments on the issue.
