Looking for a horrifying experience of spending a night in a haunted village, then Scary Village is the place to be.

Launched at Mantri Square Mall (third floor) in the City on Tuesday, a walk through the Scary Village would give one a feel of night life in a haunted village. It consists of a group of dark houses with features such as advanced illusions, sound-effects, lighting, village setting, spooky roads, the dead, horror well and haunted banyan trees.

Speaking after the launch of Scary Village, Tavva Srinivasulu, Founder, Crazy Concepts and Mazes Private Limited, said that after designing the concept of the Scary House, he found a need to create a more interesting zone and thus originated the idea of having a village.

Pregnant women, those with heart ailments and children aged below eight are not permitted into the village. Srinivasulu said that bearing the security aspect in mind, every inch is put under CCTV surveillance and is monitored both in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Entry fee is Rs 75.

It took Srinivasulu and his team of 50 workers eight months to put the set together. As much as Rs 1.5 crore has been invested to create the set up in a 4,000-sq ft area. “To make it as close to reality as possible, I stayed in villages and places close to grave yards to get a feel of what night life is like. It took us days to observe the sounds and research on what instils fear in the minds of people. A few houses in scary village are an exact replica of what was seen in real villages,” he said. A studio is being designed above the scary village area where one could take selfies with prominent people such as Mother Teresa and Abdul Kalam. “If Rajkumar family permits, we would have a replica of him as well,” he added.
