Anirban Lahiri, who would playing in his first full season on the PGA Tour next year, said the sheer volume of top quality events in the United States is what makes them such exceptional golfers.

“In America, almost every week you have a huge event,” said Lahiri on the sidelines of a promotional event where he was named as the brand ambassador of Hinduja Global Solutions here on Thursday. “In Asia you may have 4-5 big money events per season where all the top players in the world would be present. In Europe it’s a lot more but on the PGA Tour, almost every week you have all the big guys playing and the prize money for each of those events is huge.

“So guys on the PGA Tour get used to playing big tournaments and in a season or two they become accomplished. Playing in big events is almost like going to work every day for them. They don’t feel the pressure or nerves as compared to golfers on the Asian Tour because its every day stuff for them.

“That’s why I always wanted to move westward. Last season I migrated to the European Tour and next season, I would be playing on the PGA Tour. The experience of playing with top players week in and week out is only going to make you a better player. It will help me handle pressure much better.”
