<p>Rains continue to lash Nellore and Chittoor in south coastal Andhra Pradesh for the third consecutive day after a brief lull from the earlier spell. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Normal life has been disrupted in the two districts, with flood water from overflowing reservoirs inundating roads and low-lying areas.<br /><br />In Nellore district, traffic has been disrupted between Gudur-Ravuru, Gudur-Venkatagiri routes with the flood water washing away parts of the roads. <br /><br />One woman doctor reportedly fell to her death when the vehicle she rode was drowned in a ditch brimming with rainwater in Gudur. <br /><br />Nellore recorded 5 cm rains on Monday, and before Tuesday the district received 6 cm further downpour. Kavali reported record breaking 9.5 cm rains during the day. District authorities shifted 800 people from low-lying areas to relief centres with the help of NDRF and fire fighting teams.<br /><br />In Chittoor, rainwater flooded all the streets, causing troubles for daily commuters.<br /> <br />In rural areas, standing crops were damaged in thousands of hectares with the Kalangi River in spate. In KVB Puram mandal, a causeway was washed away when irrigation officials lifted flood gates of the reservoir.</p>
