Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday demanded a public explanation from Prime Minister’s Office over the controversial CBI raid on his office last month.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia even sought a public apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly misusing the probe agency for political motives.

Reacting to a special CBI court’s order earlier in the day about th release of documents seized by the probe agency during the raid on Delhi Secretariat, Kejriwal tweeted: “After today’s CBI court order directing release of docs seized from CMO, PMO owes an explanation to the nation since CBI reports to PM.”

The ruling AAP also launched an offensive attack on the BJP government at the Centre and said the CBI raid was a ploy to unsettle the popular Kejriwal government.

Sisodia told reporters at briefing: “The Prime Minister should apologise for the politically motivated raid and take action against the officials who were part of the politically motivated action against the AAP government.”

“The court order has made clear that the CBI had arbitrarily seized documents from Chief Minister's Office, which were not related to the case that they claimed to be investigating. The court’s order has completely exposed Modi government’s blatant misuse of the CBI,” he said.

Kejriwal’s media advisor Nagendra Sharma said in a tweet that the court made it clear that the FIR against Rajendra Kumar, principal secretary to Kejriwal, was registered in haste on the basis of oral hearsay and the CBI did not do its homework.

The AAP said the ministers of Modi government owe an apology for lying in Parliament and in public about the raid at CMO.

Convenor of Delhi AAP Dilip Pandey said the December 15 raid was a ploy to unsettle the popular Kejriwal government.

“Aam Aadmi Party’s consistent fight against the BJP had exposed its politics of hatred. Rattled by humiliating loss in Bihar elections, Narendra Modi Government had unleashed the CBI to terrorize the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi,” he said.

“The BJP-led government at the Centre also knew that the Delhi government had initiated a probe against corruption in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) under Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. They also knew that there was ample evidence on record that could create trouble for Jaitley. The CBI raid was aimed at seeing the DDCA probe file and terrorise the bureaucrats so that no action is taken in the DDCA scam,” said Pandey .

“Jaitley lied in the Rajya Sabha and claimed that the raid was not at Chief Minster’s Office and the case had nothing to do with Kejriwal’s tenure as Chief Minister. Today’s court order has nailed Jaitley’s lie,” he said.
