If one is finding it difficult to get cleared one’s doubts in science, technology or any form of art, visit ‘forumguru.in’, a portal, where professionals and experts in the respective fields will resolve the doubts.

 Thanks to a group of budding engineers of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), which has designed the portal that was launched on Saturday.

A team of 15 students of second and third year engineering has designed the portal, with a view to help young people. Forumguru provides user-friendly answers in a way that can be easily understand. The website has been designed to host any number of topics from any field.

The purpose of the forum is to bring together a community of technical and non-technical people to discuss issues, which the social media cannot solve.

“Forumguru intends to provide validated expertise for questions, so that we can solve the problems, which the social media might term as ‘private’. Forumguru’s responsive design and moderating feature makes the end-user feel like writing one’s personal diary,” says Bipin S Kumar, a team member.

“To make the portal genuine, professionals like professors, subject experts and highly-skilled professionals are playing a role. Users can post their queries to get their doubts cleared by experts. Though we can raise queries on several social sites and search engines, many times we land up in confusion or get irrelevant answers. Professionals will reply to the queries as soon as they get questions,” says Bipin.

At present, the website includes 25 topics such as programming languages, operating system, robotics, automobiles, gadgets, social media and tech preview. In future, more topics will be included into the portal, said team leader A V Chandan.

The team is also planning to tie-up with e-commerce companies and provide donation option for education. The portal can be accessed on mobile phones, tabs and laptops free of cost. Anybody can sign up as a member of forumguru and post on any topic available on the forum. One can add topics and start a discussion too, he said.
