Rs 1L-cr investment potential on offer at Invest Karnataka

The Infrastructure Development Department has compiled a list of 117 projects in nine sectors having an investment potential of over Rs one lakh crore to be showcased to investors at “Invest Karnataka - 2016” to be held in Bengaluru next month.

According to a press release by Infrastructure Minister Roshan Baig on Monday, more than 25 projects pertain to strengthening infrastructure in Bengaluru. Most of the projects are proposed to be taken up on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and include those aimed at easing traffic congestion, parking facilties, skywalks, elevated corridors, Light Rail Transit System, public toilets among others.

Invest Karnataka - 2016 is scheduled at the Palace Grounds from February 3 to 5.
Nine sectors including transportation, urban and municipal infrastructure, tourism, agri-infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, IT parks, health and communication are identified.

Out of the 117 projects, feasibility study report for 17 projects with an investment potential of Rs 5,900 crore have been prepared and are at the bidding stage.

Pre-feasibility reports of 22 projects have been prepared while others are in initial stage of study. Selection will be through a process of bidding.
