Unisys Corp gives prominence to Indians

 Unisys Corporation, the NYSE-listed American IT solutions company with a total revenue of around $3 billion, recently announced its global realignment of business units and gave more prominence to Indians at top positions.

Unisys India has contributed five of their talent pools to head global operations making it a primary destination for solid performers across the globe.

Interacting with Deccan Herald, Unisys India managing director said, this development highlights the growing importance of India. “We have been carrying out solid research and development activities, and the company’s digital game plan is primarily focussed on India." 

The company appointed Ravikumar Sreedharan as managing director of its India unit from October 31. Sreedharan, who was leading the application services group in Unisys India, takes on additional charge as managing director from Kumar Prabhas.

Apart from his role as vice president, application services and managing director of Unisys India, Ravikumar Sreedharan also heads global services delivery center.

The company, which started its operations in 2004, employs around 5,000 workers in India, having its presence in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Unisys India, which started its operations primarily to cater to internal customers, registered 100% growth for the past 7 years.

In the reshuffle, the company also made Narayan Mangavalli as vice president and general manager, service desk, end user services, from his earlier position as vice president and general manager, EUS (end user support) for APAC (Asia-Pacific).

Subhashini Sriram, who was heading India human resources department, is presently appointed as HR lead for End User Services.

Besides Geetanjali Pasi as vice president, Services Operations and Analytics from her earlier position of senior director, Operations, Unisys Global Services, the company also appointed Seshadri P S as the senior director, services delivery and quality, services, from his earlier position as previously senior director, Business Excellence and Project Management Practice, Unisys Global Services.

As part of the Unisys Global Services, the company restricted its activities to India, China, and Hungary and now their roles are completely global. 

With more than 20,000 employees serving clients around the world, Unisys offers services, which include cloud and infrastructure services, application services, security solutions, and high-end server technology, among others.
