Property parade held in Madikeri

A total of commodities costing about Rs 2,73,600 stolen during the night robbery and commodities worth Rs 50,000 stolen during day robbery, seized by the police were displayed.

During the period, a total of 61 cases, including 4 murders, 2 looting cases, 26 night theft, 2 day robberies, 3 molestation, 2 dowry deaths, 12 dowry harassment cases and 11 other serious crimes had taken place in the district.

Superintendent of Police (in charge) J D Prakash informed that a total of Rs 33,35,352 was stolen in the district in various cases including Rs 40,000 in looting cases, Rs 16,30,352 in night theft, Rs 1,75,000 in day theft and Rs 14,90,000 in other serious cases.

Prize

About 98 constables, 56 Head Constables, 15 ASIs, 25 PSIs and 8 CPIs have been awarded in the district for their excellent performance. Of these 8 personnel and 24 police officials have been given best service certificate and appreciation certificate respectively.

Cases solved

Four accused in Hebbale murder case were nabbed and have been handed over to judicial custody. In Navadeep Jewellery shop theft case, one person named Jafur, of the three accused was arrested and gold ornaments worth Rs 3,500 was seized from him. In the Somwarpet Ganapathy temple theft case one person named Sanjay has been arrested of the three accused. House burglary case in Mathikadu too has been solved.
