The Central police claimed to have solved a three-year-old murder case by arresting five persons. The police identified the suspects as Veena, her paramour Raghavendra, his friends Shekhar, Sanjay and Ganesh. Veena had connived with others and had murdered her husband Vasu, 43, about three years ago.

Veena, a native of Gollahalli, was Vasu’s second wife. The couple were staying at Parvathipura. Vasu, a financier, would often fight with Veena over petty issues and she would often go to her parents’ house, said the police.

Veena became close to Raghavendra, a plumber at Gollahalli and the two began an affair. She plotted Vasu’s murder for his property and escape from his torture. She discussed her plan with others and they agreed to help her, said the police.

As per the plan, Veena invited the suspects to her house on April 10, 2013. The suspects gained entry inside Vasu’s bedroom and strangulated him with a pillow. The police registered a case of unnatural death, said the police.

The police received a tip-off from one of her family members about her involvement in Vasu’s death. The police detained her and interrogated. She confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of others.
