Close on the heels of apprehending prime accused Pawan Kumar alias Pawan for the murder of history-sheeter Devendra alias Devu, City Police claim to have arrested three of his accomplices, involved in the crime.

Suneel Kumar alias Raghu, 29, a resident of Basavanagudi Beedhi, P Hosahalli, Srirangapatna taluk; Rakesh, 19, from Bhyraveshwara Nagar near Hebbal, Mysuru; and Shivaraj alias Kariya, 27, from Ganjam in Srirangapatna taluk; have been arrested in the case, on Wednesday.

According to investigators, the trio, also friends of Pawan have confessed to their involvement in the case. They are being interrogated and efforts are underway to nab the remaining accused.

Interrogation

Pawan, who was arrested recently, had spilled the beans about his accomplices during interrogation. Acting on the information, the investigators traced the remaining accused.

Interlinked

On May 5, Devendra was hacked to death by eight to 10 armed persons, at Paduvarahalli. Devendra was charged with the murder of Kariyappa, a realtor and relative of jailed Janata Dal (Secular) Corporator C Mahadesha, alias ‘Avva’ Mahadesha.

Mahadesha and his seven accomplices had hacked two friends of Devendra to death at a farmhouse in Hunsur taluk in 2008. Enraged, Devendra and his friends eliminated Kariyappa in 2010, as he had hatched a plot against them.

According to the available information, all the three murder cases, including the recent murder was interlinked, as Pawan has claimed to have avenged the murder of Kariyappa.

The police team was led by Inspectors Thimmegowda (Jayalakshmipuram) and C V Ravi (VV Puram).
