A 30-year-old man died after a speeding lorry knocked down his bike near MES Road in Jalahalli on Wednesday night.<br /><br />The police identified the deceased as Manjunath, an employee of a petrol bunk in Hebbal. A native of Chikkaballapur, he was residing in Jalahalli.<br /><br />Around 9 pm, Manjunath was returning home from work when the lorry rear-ended his bike. Manjunath fell head first on the pavement and started bleeding profusely. Passersby noticed him lying in a pool of blood and shifted him to a private hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’. The Jalahalli traffic police seized the lorry and are on the lookout for the driver.<br /><br />In another incident, a 23-year-old automobile mechanic was killed, while his friend was injured when a lorry crashed into their bike on RMC Yard Main Road.<br /><br />The police said Vinod Kumar, a mechanic in a garage in Goraguntepalya, died on the spot while his friend Satish, an electrician, escaped with minor injuries. On Wednesday, around 10.30 pm, Kumar was on his way to drop Satish at his house. <br /><br />As they reached RNS Motors on RMC Yard main road, the driver of the lorry tried to take a U-turn and hit their bike. Kumar fell in front of the lorry and was run over, while Satish fell on the median. The public shifted them to a nearby hospital where Kumar was declared dead on arrival. Satish is said to be out of danger. The Yeshwantpur police said the driver of the lorry, who was arrested, tried to a take U-turn without noticing the bike and caused the accident.<br /><br /></div>
