An unidentified person sneaked into a house and made away with a gold chain and cash at JP Nagar 5th Phase on Wednesday night.
According to the police, the burglar sneaked into the house through the main door. He unlatched the door through the window, which was left open.
He went inside the bedroom and found the family members sleeping. He took away Rs 1,500 in cash from a shirt pocket and also managed to remove the gold chain, weighing 15 gram, from the woman, who was sleeping.
He went to the other bedroom searching for more valuables. But the woman woke up and raised an alarm forcing the burglar to flee.
They informed the police, who visited the spot and collected the fingerprints, said the police.
The owner of the house, who did not want to be named, registered a case in JP Nagar police station.
