BJP MP Subramanian Swamy on Thursday said Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra should be “prosecuted” if he had “assisted” suicide of his father Rajendra Vadra.

Sparing targets in BJP, Swamy shifted his focus on the Congress first family. He continued to box even after inviting the prime minister’s snub. Swamy tweeted, “Vadra the Goon should also be prosecuted for the alleged suicide, if it was assisted, of his father.”

Way back in 2009, Rajendra Vadra was found dead at a Yusuf Sarai guest house in the national capital. The father and son did not enjoy cordial relations as Robert had put out advertisements cautioning people to stay away from his father and brother who, he had charged, were “duping” people under the garb of providing jobs and getting their work done. Rajendra, in turn, had denied the charges and threatened with a defamation case.

Swamy’s fresh allegations against Vadra adds to heated exchanges the two have had recently. A few days ago, the Rajya Sabha MP had said that it was better Vadra, who is under probe for his land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan, “concentrate on staying out of jail and not comment on political issues”.

This was in response to Vadra’s comment that Swamy’s rants that ministers should not dress like waiters were derogatory and were “attention seeking”.

Swamy took a pause on his attacks on the RBI governor and Finance Ministry bureaucrats. On the other hand, he praised the External Affairs Ministry in one his tweets.

“I was happy with the warm welcome given to me by EAM Sushma Swaraj & MPs across parties at the Parliament Committee meeting on EA Ministry,” he posted on the social media.
