The state government on Thursday sought three months’ time to shift the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar to its original location in front of the Vidhana Soudha.
A contempt petition was filed by H Marappa, president, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Samatavaada), seeking action against the government for not complying with an earlier High Court order.
The government had earlier submitted to the court that the statue would be shifted to its original location once the Metro work got over, but failed to keep the promise.
A division bench of Justices Mohan M Shantangoudar and RB Budihal adjourned the hearing until after three months.
