Salesman stabbed to death over petty issue

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death over a petty reason on Modi Road in DJ Halli on Monday night.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Fayaz Pasha, a resident of Bhuvaneshwari Nagar in RT Nagar.

Pasha was working as a salesman at a bangle store on Commercial Street. The accused, Baba (32), is an autorickshaw driver and a resident of DJ Halli. Baba has been arrested for the murder.

At around 8.20 pm, Pasha was standing near a tea shop on Modi Road. Baba, who was walking past, noticed Pasha staring at him. Baba asked Pasha why he was staring at him which led to an argument.

In a fit of rage, Baba stabbed Pasha, who started bleeding profusely. As the public gathered, Baba fled the spot. DJ Halli police were informed about the incident.

They shifted Pasha to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. Police traced Baba near his house and arrested him.

It is learnt that Baba and Pasha were neighbours and fought frequently over a personal issue.

A couple of years ago, Pasha shifted his house, but kept visiting DJ Halli to meet his friends.
On Monday also, he had come to meet one of his friends when the incident took place, added the police. A case has been registered at the DJ Halli police station, and investigations are on.

Man crushed under truck
A 24-year-old youth was killed in an accident at Cambridge Layout near Indiranagar on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Saikrishna of Andhra Pradesh. He was working at a hotel on Indiranagar 100 feet road.

The police said that the accident occurred at around 11 am when he was riding pillion on his friend Vinod’s two-wheeler.

The duo fell down after a truck hit their motorcycle. Saikrishna came under the front wheel of the truck. He was killed on the spot due to severe injuries.

The truck driver abandoned his vehicle on the spot and fled. Vinod escaped unhurt in the accident.

A case has been registered.
