If police investigation finds evidence of anti-India slogans at the Amnesty International programme on Kashmir, action would be taken, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Tuesday.

He told reporters, “The police have already registered a first information report (FIR) against the organisers, including charges of sedition based on the complaint filed by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Scrutiny would take place and police will take action against the guilty,” he said.

When reminded about his counter opinion on sedition charges against Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar, Siddaramaiah said: ``I stand by whatever I said.’’

On the lathicharge against ABVP protesters, the chief minister said there were some tense moments and hence the police had to lathicharge protesters to bring the situation under control.
