<p>According to Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Krishnappa, cases have been registered against Ramachandrappa, retired Gram Panchayat secretary of Hebbari; Jafar Khan, revenue inspector of Chelur; V Venkateshappa and N Nanjunda Reddy - suspended GP secretaries; V Shivareddy, the president of Nandiganahalli Gram Panchayat and member Saraswathamma.<br /><br />Housing schemes<br /><br />The officers of Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation in their preliminary investigation have found that houses have been allotted to ineligible persons under Grameen Ashraya and Indira Awaz schemes and siphoning Rs 5.59 lakh by producing bills for houses already constructed. The exact amount of money misused is being assessed, the CEO said.According to the complaint Ramachandrappa has misused Rs 80,000 while Jafar Khan has embezzled Rs 1,35,000; Venkatappa and Nanjundareddy have respectively misutilised Rs 2,25,000 and Rs. 1,41,500, Krishnappa revealed.<br /><br />Misuse of position<br /><br />He said that the Gram Panchayat member has misused government funds to the tune of Rs 25,000 in seeking allotment of a house. <br /><br />Gram Panchayat president V Shivareddy and member Saraswathamma are accused of misusing their position. <br /><br />The chief executive officer said that the Gram Panchayat secretary has instructed the president of Nandiganahalli Gram Panchayat president Shivareddy and member Saraswathamma to deposit the sum of Rs 5.59 lakh, found to have been embezzled, along with interest at 11 pc.<br /><br />A case has been registed at the Batlahally police station.</p>
