C'ballapur DHO in Lokayukta net

Official allegedly demanded money for supplying medicines

Dr Rajeev was caught red-handed while accepting money from Dr Sathyanarayana Reddy, a doctor at Primary Health Centre in Guluru of Bagepalli taluk. He said that the DHO had demanded money to supply medicines to the PHC. Earlier, Dr Rajeev is said to have received Rs 29,000 from Dr Sathyanarayana Reddy for transferring the latter from Shivapura to Gulur. Dr Reddy had lodged a complaint.

It is said that the DHO was demanding Rs 1,500 from the medical officers to supply medicines to the government hospitals in the district.

The Lokayukta police of Bangalore Rural District were waiting to trap the officer from 8 in the morning. The DHO had called a meeting of all the medical officers in the district in the morning.

The operation was conducted at six in the evening. Lokayukta police said that Dr Rajeev was trapped even while he was serving as Kolar District Health and Family Welfare officer.
Lokyukta officer K Srinkanta, PSI Vajir Ali Khan, personnel Rajashekhar, Javed, Satya and Keshavarmurthy took part in the operation.
