Take care while using internet: Judge

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge and District Legal Services Authority president Venkatesh Naik said one should be careful while using the internet and see to it that the internet is not overused.

He was speaking after inaugurating the legal awareness programme organised by the district Legal Services Authority, Bar Association, Department of Education and other departments at Board High School, Udupi on Monday.

Internet has brought people closer and they get to know the latest developments. It has also been useful in online transactions, banking, ticket booking and also distant education. But misuse of internet can be disastrous. Social networking sites should not be used to propagate anti-social elements, he said.

Every one has to face legal hurdles in life at least once. Along with the citizen, people from backward classes must also be aware of the law. Legal awareness programmes are being organised by the district legal services authority to ensure this, he said.

Prior to the programme, the Principal District and Sessions Judge flagged off the Legal Awareness Chariot on the premises of the district court.
