A Lokayukta special court on Monday reserved orders on the anticipatory bail application filed by T N Chikkarayappa, suspended managing director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam. The court posted the application for orders to January 13.
After the Income Tax Department and the Central Bureau of Investigation raids on Chikkarayappa’s house, the state Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered a case against him for possessing disproportionate assets. Chikkarayappa had approached the high court seeking quashing of the ACB proceedings against him.
Notice to Ugrappa
The high court has ordered notice to V S Ugrappa, MLC, and Vidhana Soudha police in a petition filed by the member of a Facebook group ‘Swacha Brahmana Vedike’, Krishnamurthy Mugalodi, living in the US.
Ugrappa had filed an FIR against the members of the group contending that they had abused him and that there was a threat to his life from them. The petitioner has sought directions to quash the FIR.
