JOIN USThe High Court on Tuesday disposed of a petition seeking directions to implement the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement (RFCTLARR) Act 2013.
Justice B S Patil disposed of a petition filed by Girishekhar Kalkure after the government submitted a notification appointing the authorities to handle land acquisition disputes.
The petitioner has contended that though the 2013 Act was imposed from January 1, 2014, it was not implemented. He had sought directions to the state government to implement the amended Act.
The notification said that the additional district judges of every district will be the authority to handle land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement disputes. If there is no additional district judge, then the principal judge would become the presiding officer of the authority. The notification was issued on January 10, 2017.
