U-K Cong, JD(S) leaders join BJP

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said several leaders including former MLAs Kumar Bangarappa, Parimala Nagappa and G T Nayak will be joining the BJP soon.

He was speaking to reporters after inducting former MLA and JD(S) leader from Uttara Kannada Dinakar Shetty and Congress leader from Yellapur Pramod Hegde into the party here.

He said it was a matter of time before Kumar Bangarappa of the Congress joined the BJP. Parimala Nagappa (Congress), who had won from the Hanur Assembly constituency in Chamarajanagar in 2004, will be joining the BJP tentatively on March 16. Congress leader and former Bhatkal MLA G D Naik will also join the BJP, Yeddyurappa added.
