Chouhan's FTII tenure ends

Actor Gajendra Chouhan will complete his tenure as the chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on Friday.

He wanted an extension of his term which remained marred by students’ protests over his appointment in the first few months and lasted for altogether a year and seven months.

Chouhan had made a request to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for extension of his term. But, official sources indicated that the ministry was unlikely to accept his request.
