Dr Gangubai Hanagal University for Music and Performing Arts has announced honorary doctorate awards for theatre person Enagi Balappa, vocalist Gowri Kuppaswamy and violinist N Rajam.
They have been recognised for their achievements in the field of drama, Carnatic music and Hindustani music, said university Vice Chancellor Sarvamangala Shankar.
The honorary doctorate degrees would be conferred on the three veteran artistes during the 2nd Graduation Day of the varsity on March 7. Governor Vajubai Vala will attend the event, she added.
