A local court here has dismissed a petition filed by an advocate accusing actor and former MP Ramya of sedition.

Ramya had said that Pakistan is not hell and there are good people in Pakistan.
Katnamane Vittal Gowda, a lawyer, had filed a private complaint in the local court last year. The court dismissed the complaint on March 27, it is learnt.

‘Lack of evidence’

The court said that there was no sufficient evidence to prove the case which was registered under Section 124-A of IPC. It noted that Pakistan has not been considered as an ‘enemy nation’ officially and Ramya’s statements do not amount to an act of sedition.

Meanwhile, Vittal Gowda, said that he would challenge the order in the higher court.
