The accounts have been frozen under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Fourteen of these accounts are in the name of Moshin Ismail Chowdhary, allegedly involved with terror activities in the Ratnakar bank in Pune (nana Peth Branch) in Maharashtra. The freezing of the account is apparently linked to the recent bomb blast in a eating joint in Pune.

In another case relating to North-East, two bank frozen accounts are held by S S Brig Ningthoujam Rajen Singh, Commander-in-Chief and finance secretary of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup in the ICCI bank in Guwahati, Assam. Two other bank accounts held by Rajen Singh’s associate are with the SBI, Kurseong, West Bengal.
