Zakir Musa calls Indian Muslims spineless

Last Updated 06 June 2017, 19:21 IST

Urging Indian Muslims to join Islamic jihad for ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ (the final and last battle for the conquest of India), former commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Zakir Musa reiterated that the war was not just limited to Kashmir.

In a four-minute audio clip released on social networking sites, Musa urged Indian Muslims to “stand up against oppression” and launch a jihad against ‘gau rakshaks’ (cow protectors).

Against a black al-Qaeda banner, with a world map added along with two Kalashnikovs rifles emblazoned on two sides, Musa spoke in Kashmiri-accented Urdu. The militant commander talks about the reported rape of a Muslim woman in Bijnor.

“Indian Muslims are the most unconscionable and have forgotten about the battle of Badr. My blood boils when I see Muslims being attacked by gau rakshaks. Indian Muslims must form groups to take part in the conquest of Hind,” he said. Musa, who had taken over as Hizbul chief after its previous commander Burhan Wani was killed by security forces in an encounter on July 8, 2016, had stirred up a hornet’s nest last month when he threatened to chop off heads of those separatist leaders who claim the Kashmir struggle as political and not Islamic.
