Bad weather continued to hold sway over India’s practice session with forecast not looking very good for their second group game against Sri Lanka here at the Oval on Thursday.

Heavy rain forced the Indians to call off their Tuesday morning optional training session at the London School of Economics as well as a Cricket for Good coaching clinic immediately thereafter. This is not the first time rain has played havoc with their training plans. Last week in Birmingham, the Indians were confined to training indoors just two days ahead of their opener against Pakistan.

Indians will now be hoping the skies clear up but according to the Met Office things looks bleak with rain being predicted every day till the end of the week and Thursday expected to be the wettest. Two games have already been abandoned so far in the Champions Trophy and that would be the last thing the Indians want as a win against Sri Lanka will seal their semifinal berth.

Defending champions India will then take on South Africa, also at the Oval, on Sunday.
