<p>A 16-year-old boy was killed on the spot and his two friends were severly injured when the scooter they were riding hit the parapet of a bridge on NICE Road in Kengeri on Sunday morning. <br /><br />The deceased, Tejas Nagaraj, was a resident of Govindarajnagar near Vijayanagar. He had just joined first-year PUC after completing SSLC, the police said.<br /><br />According to the police, Tejas had borrowed a scooter from his neighbour and called his friends Manish and Kishore for a joyride on Saturday night. The trio had not informed their parents and set out on a ride on NICE road. When they were returning home, Tejas who was speeding lost control of the vehicle on the railway bridge on NICE Road and hit the parapet.<br /><br />The incident happened around 3.45 am on Sunday. While Manish sustained head injuries, Kishore fractured his leg. Both of them were riding pillion with Tejas, the police said. <br /><br />Passersby rushed the trio to the nearby Rajarajeshwari Hospital and called the police. Tejas was declared brought dead and his body was shifted for post-mortem. Manish was shifted to Nimhans, while Kishore was treated at Rajarajeshwari Hospital, the police said. The Kengeri traffic police have registered a case.<br /> </p>
