A day after AIADMK faction led by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami extended support to the NDA's presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind, the other party rebel group led by O Pannerselvam too announced on Friday that it would support Kovind.
A decision was arrived in this regard after Panneerselvam chaired a meeting with his supporting MLAs and MPs in Chennai.
"Following the request from BJP president Amit Shah, it has been unanimously decided that all MLAs and MPS will support NDA's presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind", AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction, headed by Panneerselvam, said in a release.
Meanwhile, Edappadi Palaniswami is expected to visit Delhi on Thursday evening to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning and extend his party support to Kovind directly to him.
