Oz teen pilot makes emergency landing on busy road

Patrick Humphrey, a trainee pilot with the Australian Airforce who was practising aerobatics when his plane's engine stalled, forcing him down in Australia's Hobart city.The plane came down just near the Tasman Bridge overpass on the city-bound lanes of the Brooker Highway, which links central Hobart to the northern suburbs, ABC online reported.
According to witnesses, the light aircraft circled a few times before its engine cut out, eventually diving onto the highway and crashing into an embankment.

The pilot, who is believed to have been recently joined the airforce was home on Easter holidays, quickly exited the cockpit and ran down the highway to direct traffic.
A crane was pressed into service to remove the plane and wreckage while the highway that was closed to traffic re-opened after two hours.
