Kareena, who is to star in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next, is set to scorch the screen with not just her sheer beauty and poise, but some heavy duty acting as well. Marilyn Monroe, who shot to fame with her comic roles in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch and All About Eve, was renowned for her link-ups, health issues and for being a thorough diva. There was much speculation over the cause of her death as well.

National Award-winner Madhur Bhandarkar, who has been researching on the subject for quite a while now, approached the gorgeous Kareena since he was of the opinion that only she could do justice to the character.

Reveals a source, “Madhur’s film is inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s life which is quite a controversial subject in itself. However, after having his material in place and convincing Kareena Kapoor to play the lead, he has no doubt that the film will turn out well.” Madhur Bhandarkar, known for his style of mirroring reality in films, is currently in talks with male actors to star opposite Kareena Kapoor.
